I just got a Roomba with scheduling. It's pretty cool with one exception. It WILL run over poop and spread it all over the house. My dog doesn't poop on the floor often but it does happen. The only solution now is to close the doors that the Roomba cleans which is effective but offensive on a personal level
SOOOOOO I think I have a solution, pending further tests. The idea is to use an array of metal probes attached to a multiplexer which is attached to an ADC. The probe pins would hit the poo and hopefully it would conduct enough electricity to get a reading on the ADC. The sensor then would either trigger the bumper sensor on the roomba (v1) or do something smarter with the information.

Update: I got the multiplexer and a PIC to process the input and deliver the output to the roomba. Now I need to find the proper probe material.
