MicroGrid
The idea of distributed power systems is not new but I have not been able to find any comprehensive, easy to use open source micro power grid technologies out there. The basic idea would be to create a "plug and play" system that harvests excess power from around the home and stores and/or re-distributes that power to help save on energy costs.
The main system would be a small low power computer that watches and coordinates the various systems. Systems would include:
- Storage
- Distribution
- Optimization
- Logging
- Generation
